Overview
Please find our proposal below which has incorporated popular feedback from the Reddit discussion thread.
Describe the Purpose
We have heard the need from the community ($1B market cap; 50,000 Defichain addresses, yet so few Reddit users?) and are ready to answer it. With the Apollo mission including an objective of 25,000 reddit members of the r/defiblockchain community, we believe it’s the perfect time to bring a bot to the community.
Our vision is to create a bot that posts important DeFiChain and Cake news, status, & critical updates from all of the official DefiChain sources to this subreddit. This will help facilitate cross-traffic from multiple DFIChain communities and help unify thoughts from the community at large.
On top of posting important DeFiChain updates, the bot will be designed to respond to commands in informative and engaging ways. Some examples include; !dfiprice, !cakeapy, !roadto50 (surprise fun post), !links (link to defilinks.io and official DeFi Chain Websites), !socials (link to telegram groups, official DeFiChain and Cake twitter accounts, discord group). We plan to add a number of relevant commands and welcome ideas for new commands.
Additionally, taking inspiration from the Reddit post feedback, will add commands that address the questions most frequently asked of moderators. These responses will be used to build commands for the Reddit admins which will save time and standardize the replies to frequently asked questions. The intention being to ease the burden on the mods and allow them to focus on higher value tasks.

This project will usher in more web traffic to reddit where further DeFiChain discussions can take place. Growing the reddit community can help to reach new users who are less active on the most popular platforms for the DeFiChain community today (Telegram & Twitter). At the end of the day it all boils down to increased engagement and interest which will help drive DeFiChain along the road to 50!
