gh pages for test examples ?

github has github pages for easy serving of static html. One just creates a branch with the exact name "gh-pages" which is special. The files in this branch are then served from username.github.io/projectname/

I created a branch (both locally and githib) for 'gh-pages'. I can't seem to push there from my local machine. I don't think this is a problem right now, but it will be sooner or later.

Does
git push origin gh-pages
work - while having the local gh-pages branches checked out ?
