History Improvements - Quality of Life Feature Suggestion

I've run into a scenario several times where I already have a series and a new season comes out. Since my history does not show me as previously having that series, CRDL starts downloading every episode of every season in order to catch-up, after which I then need to abort all downloads, then go into my History and individually mark each episode as complete. This is kind of a pain when there is a series with a dozen or more seasons.

It would be nice if A) I could manually add series directly into History, and then modify the "complete" setting from there before downloading. And B) When selecting seasons or episodes to mark as "complete", I could do-so en masse, such as with a "Select All" / "Mark as Complete" type setting.

I suspect that you might already relying on Sonarr to provide history information, but in my case, Sonarr is not directly connected to my media library due to Windows / Linux interoperability issues. I handle my downloads and my media library separately and only move content to the library once files have been downloaded, reviewed, transcoded (if needed), correctly named, and ID3 tags have been applied. It's a manual process, but it works for me. 😊

i always do it like that that if a new season comes out i just add it from the calendar and download the episode and after it finished downloading it is marked as finished and all episodes from previous seasons are then ignored

another example:

all not downloaded episodes before the first marked as download are ignored so you don't have to mark a complete seasons as downloaded only the last regular episode or the first episode of the new season and all previous seasons/episodes are ignored

i only marked the e2 of season 3 as watched and it ignores everything before that if i would press the "Add to Queue" button

Thanks for the explanation. So if I'm understanding, adding a show specifically from the calendar creates a point-in time for that specific episode, where anything prior to that episode is assumed by CRDL to already exist? It also sounds like this behavior is unique to adding shows from the calendar. If a show is added via "Add Download", that same rule don't apply. Does this sound correct?

maybe the example with the calendar was a bad one it all depends on the green checkmark in the history and this is set when an episode was downloaded - so if a new series/seasons of something is released on CR and you add the episode from the calendar or the "Add Download" tab and download that episode the checkmark is set in the history so next time you press refresh and add all in the history it behaves like i explained with the table view above

I just ran a couple tests, and it's making sense. I added a single episode from Season 7 of My Hero Academia. Upon refreshing History and adding to the download queue, CRDL saw and added all Season 7 episodes. History is now only seeing Season 7, ignoring that any prior seasons exist.

In contrast, when I searched for My Hero Academia under Add Download and then added all episodes to the queue, every episode from every season is added, and all seasons are reflected under History.

Thanks again for the explanation. It's very helpful to know the way that CRDL works so that I can add seasons / episodes in a way that works best for what I want.
