Compatibility for TYPO3 version 8.x

Hello
is there something planned to adapt the current EXT:commerce with the coming TYPO3 version 8.x?
If not what are the plans and/or the possible costs for updating this extension?
currently we are planning installing your EXT:commerce on a version 6.2.x and we would like to update this in spring 2017 to the followed version of 8.x.

Hi Angelo,

We finally finished collecting all information concerning the adaptation of TYPO3 Commerce for TYPO3 7.
In order to be able to finance the development process we are starting an EAP-program.
You can find all important information, including a detailed summary of the technical steps in the documents below.

After 7 compatability is achieved work for 8 should start immediately. As 8 does not bring complete new form structure the work there would be a lot easier, so additional efforts are far less pricy. But i'd like to remind that the EAP for 7 is crucial for the further development.
