[Bug]: Collapse couldn't open after 1.82.8 update to 1.82.9

Bug Behavior

When I open the old version (1.82.8), it automatic update to 1.82.9, but the install directory does not see the latest-version's file.
If open the shortcut at destop, it will show the error window.
there also have a strange thing...double click the ApplyUpdate.exe, it will download the 1.82.8 version

Expected Behavior

correct install the latest version

I found that one image didn't upload correctly, I try to upload again. it will show the install dircetory.
Only the disk partition name is Chinese

Same as open the shortcut.
I found three log files in the folder, I will upload it.
Velopack.log
Squirrel.log
Squirrel-ProcessStart.log

Also I found that if I install the 1.82.9 version with the package instead of use automatic update, it can run normally, I think the problem may in the update program

In other hand, we are currently trying to fix the issue. This might take a while and if your issue still persist, we suggest you to reinstall the launcher and try cleaning up any files inside the previous installation folder.

When the files that you refers are removed, Collpase can open as normal, but it will update soon. I will reinstall it as you said.

Heyo!
We just pushed our ApplyUpdate.exe payload to the CDN.
Just in case someone needs a help without involving re-installation of the launcher, here's the step you can follow:

1. Download the ApplyUpdate.exe payload Here
2. Copy the executable inside of your launcher installation folder (For example: C:\Program Files\Collapse Launcher)
   
3. Run the "ApplyUpdate.exe" executable as Administrator.
4. Click on "Update Now!" button.
   
5. If you get "Broken Existing Installation Detected" message, click on "Yes"
   
6. Wait until it finishes the update and the launcher should be opened after the update.

updating using ApplyUpdate.exe still forces you to update within the launcher, which always ends up with the aforementioned error

Seems like you haven't download the "ApplyUpdate.exe" executable from the instruction above since the size is different.
Can you try download the new one and then run it?

Had same issue, the ApplyUpdate was looping the .8 version instead of .9 and causing errors. I had to manually download the latest payload linked above for it to properly apply the .9.

Regular users that don't visit this thread will be stuck.
