Last time I tried, replacing fprintd with some other PAM authenticator did not result in the GNOME lock screen showing a fingerprint unlock option. If someone can get it to work with GNOME, that would be great.

Btw whoever implements this will either have to maintain it or fork.

  • I will not maintain it
    • GNOME screen locker is not written in Rust
      • I only write Rust
        • So I cannot develop GNOME screen locker
