We made a ton of camera improvements to Cesium within the past year, but I've recently being playing with Cesium a lot on touch devices and things seem to have regressed there.

  • There's a weird waggle when using two-finger swipe to change the pitch.
  • When using single finger camera translation, moving from the land to the sky changes input to be as if you started on the sky (and vice versa). This makes is really hard to work with horizon views. The controls should stay consistent.
  • Pinch zooming seems to create odd rotation that makes the experience subpar

Someone really needs to go in and give the entire set of touch behavior some much needed TLC.

I would also add that pinch zooming takes a lot of pinching to zoom out/in.

We should retest this once #4488 is merged. Not sure if all this is fixed, but I think it's a lot better.

2 is fixed ( changed this to a task list) 1 and 3 still happen. I also agree that the zoomfactor for pinching is also too slow, you have to pinch way too much to zoom anywhere near the ground from space.
