SAAS Development, one function server for many sql databases

Hi, In the current implementation it looks like you have to have a separate function server for every database, is this true? Is there future work to allow all database in an azure server target the same function server and it passes in the db. which is calling it? This would allow us to scale cost effetely and also not cause us to make 100's of function servers to manage.
