Editing a story post that was published on web

After I pulled down to refresh the “published” tab in Blog Posts, it said “You’ve made unsaved changes to this post” while the post was just downloaded without any edits on Android. I couldn’t reproduce this consistently though.

Note from me: I think it may be a gltich on the WPAndroid side of things, not necessarily related to Stories. Will update here if I'm able to reproduce.

Been trying this a few times, couldn't reproduce.

  • tried publishing then logging out / uninstall so it looks "just downloaded without any edits"
  • tried publishing, then editing the story, waiting for the new slides to come up on Gutenberg in the Story block, then killing the app there, opened again and it got stuck with the "Uploading post..." state in the list. Going back to the main screen and then to Posts list once more shows Local changes, which is expected.
  • also checked the PR where this was implemented (WPAndroid, FluxC also see issue), to see if I could use the information there to cause the situation to occur in the context of Stories but I couldn't find it to be enough:
  1. create a Story post on WPAndroid and publish
  2. edit it, add a paragraph block, tap back arrow to exit Gutenberg without updating the remote Post
  3. observe the Local changes label appears on that Post on the Post list
  4. on the web, make a change and wait for autosave to get triggered
  5. now pull to refresh on the posts list on WPANdroid
  6. observe still Local changes is shown.

In any case, I think this glitch (if it is at all a glitch) is not related to Stories. Closing for now.
