The command does not run. When you pass a number close to the > it thinks it's a file descriptor
e.g.

bash -c "$O2DPG_ROOT/MC/bin/o2dpg_sim_workflow.py -eCM 13600 -gen pythia8pp --modules PIPE ITS -ns 100000 -tf 1>log.log2>&1"
