There are editorial decisions involved (I really don’t think we need a definition for U.S.A. but maybe I’m missing a use case somewhere).
We need to write the definitions.
We may need to add support for excluding specific terms—for example, if we decide that we want to keep U.S.A. but don’t want to have a definition, we may want to stop the validation from warning about that particular case.
My suggestions for next steps:
Make a first pass at this, identifying the terms that it makes the most sense to add definitions for and which are easy to make definitions for.
Separate the above list into at least two lists, one for the really easy ones we just identified and one for the rest.
As a separate task or tasks, write and add the easy ones.
Evaluate whether or not we need the validation excaptions list mentioned above.
Identify some patterns in the more difficult items, if possible, and if possible subdivide them on that basis.
Determine what the next steps for the more difficult items are, and add them to this task list.
The following terms do not have definitions. Let's check them off as we add them.
